Earlier this month, Benny unexpectedly had the internet swooning after appearing in a promotional video for Jennifer Aniston’s haircare line, LolaVie.

In the clip, Jennifer used the brand’s award-winning detangler to pull Benny’s naturally curly hair into a ponytail, leaving viewers in awe with the results.

In the interview, Benny had the left side of his head shaved completely bald, while the other half remained in his signature curls — once again sparking tons of reactions.

“What is this?” one person wrote under a TikTok clip of the interview. “Is this rage bait?” another said.
“Benny this is not the haircut we meant,” someone else wrote, as another joked, “Selena it’s neeverrr too latee.”
But not everyone was convinced the look was real, with several viewers pointing out what appeared to be signs of a bad cap around Benny’s neck and ears.

One person who said they’re a barber wrote, “The haircut looks fake. Just look behind his ear and around the back of his neck—something is sticking out. You can also see what looks like a transparent layer from the light reflection, and it seems like his real hair is still underneath.”

As it turns out, they were right.
Makeup artist Lili Eve subsequently confirmed on Instagram that it was a bald cap for Benny’s recent Complex cover with Lil Dicky and their podcast co-host, Kristin Batalucco. Posting images from the shoot, Lili praised the team’s work and joked about how many people thought Benny really shaved his head. “My favorite part is people in the comments in the OG post thinking he really did shave his head 😂,” Lili wrote, promising to share more soon about the creation of Benny’s half-bald look.
Well, that’s a relief!
